The movie's focus on romantic love and matchmaking sends the message that coupledom is a primary goal for teens and adults. But the message that family comes first -- before boyfriends, etc.

Common sense says

The kids in the movie are squeaky clean representations of teenagers. Even though the twins cut class several times and disobey their parents multiple times, they do so with good intentions. When they fall in love with the same boy, they turn against each other. But then they realize the folly of their ways and band together in a united cause. The father works too much, which causes his wife to leave him. The film is all about matchmaking and falling in love.

The twins have deep kisses with their dates, and their parents kiss at the beginning and the end. During class, students giggle when a student stumbles on "breast" while reciting a line from Shakespeare.
